5 Simple Tips to Keep Fit While Traveling
Traveling can be fun and great – especially if you are traveling for vacation – but travel also throws you off your normal exercise routine. Instead of assuming you can’t exercise or workout while traveling, embrace the travel experience and incorporate exercise into it.
Below lists 5 simple tips to staying fit while traveling:
1. Walk as much as you can
Do not underestimate the power of walking. Walking is not only a great exercise, but it also a great way to see more of your surroundings! Make a point to walk as much as you can because those steps add up to hundreds of calories being burned.
2. Find a hotel with a gym
Staying at a hotel that has a gym is ideal because it makes it so much easier having all of the fitness equipment you need in one place. It’s an easy way to get a quick workout in, which is great for when you don’t have a ton of free time to workout.
3.Find a workout class
This can be at your hotel, or even at a local fitness center that offers classes. If you are traveling somewhere with great outdoor and scenery, then look up some outdoor fitness classes such as yoga.
4. Incorporate active activities
If your hotel has tennis courts, play some tennis. If you are vacationing at a beach, try surfing or paddle boarding. Take advantage of the active amenities that your hotel offers – you are paying for it anyway!
5. Download a fitness app
There are so many fitness apps out there now, making it easy to do a personal workout class just by using your phone! Most apps do not require fitness equipment, so take your workout outside or do the workout in your hotel room.
Main take aways…
Travel can definitely make it harder to stay on track in terms of your fitness routine, but just having a plan in place makes it a lot easier!
